The end of a very long story
a very interesting 3 minute ninja movie, starring me called "64 wishes"
this is a production photo
the goal of the movie was for me, as the ninja, to attempt to destroy the film and kill the camera man before he was able to release it to the world. the movie is about this struggle, and having won the battle, the movie has ceased to exist. All but a few photos.

Meeting Stephen from Stephenvlog
One day, almost exactly 450 days ago, I stumbled on a video log called StephenVlog. I immediately felt a connection to a guy named Stephen and his goofy roommates in art school. Turns out his girlfriend (now fiancee) was from the midwest, familiar territory, and that the vlog seemed to be about many things that I am interested in, like: Magic the Gathering, video games, sarcastic humor, technology, pranks, movies, food, relationships, friends, and college life.
In addition to editing a vlog EVERY SINGLE DAY, Stephen also uploads daily video game gameplay called Let's Plays. Calling him a prolific editor would be an understatement. The stars aligned yesterday, and Stephen and Mallory were in the Midwest at the same time I was driving home from the East Coast and I got to meet, and actually appear on the vlog itself:
It was a blast to meet both Stephen and Mallory, and I had a fantastic time. Our drawing turned out really good and I loved getting to chat about the vlog, and pick Stephen's mind about how he manages to produce so much work and create such an engaging product day in and day out. Mallory may even send me a screen print she made in art school.
The vlog itself, emphasized by meeting Stephen in person, has inspired me to consider doing a weekly vlog for one year.

the astronomer's dream

Malcolm Sutherland made a beautiful film. Thanks to my friend Kris, who sent me the link. I was so captivated by the short video that I had to post the link on my blog. The surreal film reminded me of Spirited Away (one of the all time favorite animated movies). I have been researching Malcolm's other work, and may purchase his comic book and DVDs as well.

Three Alien Videos (which is best?)
Due to some advice from friends, I have started posting videos on Vimeo and Crackle, in addition to my usual YouTube location (i used to post and edit exclusively on Jumpcut but they all but shut down)
All three sites are free to join, and free to upload to.
I want your help
All three videos are the exact same upload, just on three separate sites. I would love if you could watch the video and sample the quality of picture/sound/presentation and style of the embedded movie players and let me know which one you like best. Whichever one you like best I will make sure all future video posting on this blog will come from that website.

Subway Art Gallery
This video is surreal and beautiful.
I had this same idea a few years ago, except i wanted to do this for real and not as a joke. I love ImprovEverywhere videos and find their videos to be some of the best I have seen. Check out their entire collection on youtube.
The art gallery in the subway is brilliant, since by faking this, it actually turns the mundane objects and advertisements into art. The title cards and descriptions are also quite brilliant from what I could read. I would have enjoyed seeing more of the random public reactions and hear what they had to say.

canvas kill live VIDEO

Here is the video promotion leading into week #2 of Canvas Kill Live. The video featured the creation of the first painting in Canvas Kill Live, and today is the day it meets its doom (unless someone buys it for $100 bucks)
For those who do not know, this is a three week trial experiment of live painting, and live killing of canvases. The idea is to destroy art that is not good enough to sell, and also a way to spend time creating a new work each weekend.

I am on TV
WCCO Chanel 4 came to interview me yesterday. We spoke about my Minneapolis Art Hunt. You can watch the video by going to WCCO's website.
The art hunt is in its winding moments. Less than half of the artwork is remaining, and the easy clues have just been uploaded. The park locations will be revealed tonight for the remaining hidden art.
WCCO literally contacted me the night before by e-mail, asking to do a story about the hunt, and less than 24 hours later, there it was on TV on the local news. I am excited to see that my miniature art hunts, of which I performed 7 this summer on a road trip across america, are growing in popularity each place I go. Starting with website and newspaper media, and now growing to local news. I hope the trend continues.

ROAD GAMES (short video)
the art tour across america has been a blast. we created art in the parks with local kids and families, we hid art in the parks, met some great artists...
and inbetween everything we spent hours upon hours behind the wheel of the car. To cope with the boredom monster....we created a series of Road Games.
