Custom Designs for Kids Activity Sheets

Does your business or event need custom designed kids activity sheets?
Looking for something to keep the kids busy? Fun, coloring, activities and games are a great way to keep the kids engaged. You can hire William Hessian to create a custom design with logos, your personal selection of games, and you can select a theme.

William Hessian Art designs inexpensive custom kids activity coloring sheets to be printed out and used at your store or event. William is a traveling artist who has created activity sheets for companies, events and magazines. Anyone can contact him to create their own activity sheet.

Looking for restaurant kids activity sheets?
Many restaurants want a fun simple coloring sheet to keep the kids busy for 20-30 minutes. These coloring sheets can have pictures of food, snacks and games and puzzles that will be themed for your restaurant.

What can I add to my activity sheet?
This is completely up to you. You can pick any theme or design and William will work from it. Games and puzzles include (but are not limited to): mazes, word search, cross word puzzles, mix and match, find the differences, Sudoku, connect the dots, one player hang man.

Can I include my logo?
Absolutely. You can provide a logo and it will be added and incorporated into the activity sheet.

How much does it cost?
$150 per black and white design. Available in 8.5 X 11 or 8.5 X 14 sizes. For larger 11 X 17, color pricing, or booklet style activity sheets please contact William for prices.  Please note: the artist does include his name in fine print at the bottom of each design. Satisfaction guaranteed or your money will be refunded.

How many can I print?
Once the activity sheet is designed and approved you will have full ownership of the digital file, and you can print as many as want and you can share it with as many people as you want.

What if I need to make updates in the future?
Edits to a previous file/order is an available option and will be charged on a case by case basis system. Lots of changes will cost more than simply edits. Quick edits to the file will only cost $5-20 and a new updated file will be presented to you.

Can I see samples of your work?
William does not publish activity sheets without permission of the client, therefore each client owns the final image. Which means there are no specific samples available, however you can see William's work at http://www.williamhessian.com/  and see his Free Online Printable Mazes

How long does it take?
It can take anywhere from 7 days to 30 days, depending. A proof will be finished in 7 days after payment. All changes or edits will take a variable amount of time thereafter. The more changes and edits, the longer it will take. Special rush orders are available (a rush fee will be applied).

Who do i contact to start my order?

Online Art Hunt

One of my most popular art projects is my free public miniature art hunts! Each summer I perform art hunts for different towns all over the country. My hunt in Northville, Michigan this summer was indoors and featured art hidden in ten local businesses. I decided to take a set of photos and let you go on an art hunt from your computer!
The goal is to find these tiny two inch mustang paintings hidden in each of the photos below. If you like Where's Waldo, or hidden picture games, here's your chance to go on an art hunt! Good luck.
Let's start with an easy one.

Can you find the hidden art in the portrait studio?

The gift shop

The Sport's Pub

Accessory Shop
(this is a hard one)

Jewelry Shop

Pottery Shop

Art Gallery

The Cafe

The Eatery

How did you do? Did you find them all? Send this link to others and challenge them to take the miniature art challenge.

You can find a list of all the stores in the photos above at the Northville Art Hunt website.

Find my business card!

On my MegaBus travels from Minneapolis to Madison we had a 30 minute rest stop at a Pilot Travel Station gas station. This gas station had some very nice accomodies for bus driver, like a row of single room showers. During my exploration I came to this wall of business cards. It was overwhelming on the eyes and I knew I wanted my card to join the party.

Your challenge is to find my business card amoungst the many on display.

If you enjoy this post you might enjoy my Hidden Art Hunts or my halloween Waldo at Mall of America post. Definbately make sure to also see my free printable mazes and see the Free Art Fridays.

Designing a Board Game Class

Last week, I taught a GAME DESIGN class. The goal of the class was to understand:

why do we play games?
what makes games fun?
how can we make our own fun games?

We used matte board for our boards. Mod Podge to make things shiny. Fimo clay to make handmade game pieces. And had a blast. The final day we got to play everyone's game and talk about what we learned about games, and what we liked about games.

Here is some photos of games kids created in my own week Game Class:

Hannah with her game "Guess that card?" She created an awesome game board with some collage techniques. Hannah made some spiral pieces and a unique game play idea, where the goal is to be able to guess the number on the card each time someone lands on that space. The person who can guess the most cards correctly by the time you get to finish, wins the game.

Aaron created "Camping Catastrophe", a game focused around the danger of camping. The first time I played I landed on six "forgot food, go back to start" spaces and hung my head in shame as everyone laughed at me. The game features some secret passage ways, bonus cards and a BEAR!

Aaron's bear gets activated and then can attack players and send them back to start. One of the best parts was when he decided to make it a three person game, where one player gets to be the bear and move around the board eating campers. It made for a really fun (and hard) game.

Rachel's 'dressopoly' game. You must collect the most dresses from around the world. Rachel made two games, and this one was a big success.

Rachel hand made all of these dresses to be collected as you go around the board. Notice the 3-d trophy dress at the top, which you earn when you get the most dresses at the end of the game.

Traven's 'Untitled Game' features a set of really neat handmade tokens and items. The game is unique as you lands on different shapes that make you do different things. My favorite one is the space that you have to scream out loud when you land on it.
Isaiah's "Random Space" game featured a race to be the first player to collect specimens from earth and return them to your planet. Isaiah worked hard on his game board and the art is amazing. Great creatures, aliens and colors. Everyone wanted to play his game based simply on how the board looked.

Here is a close up of his board. Isaiah used some creative ideas to fit aliens into the board and make it look dynamic; like the guy shooting a space with his cyclops eye.
Isaac (not pictured) made a game called "An Inside Job" which is featured on the inside of a mouth. You start on the teeth and fight monsters as you make it to the throat. Then you fight a boss in order to get to the stomach (the green) and then fight the final stomach boss. If you get candy cards it hurts you, if you get carrot cards it is a bonus. Even after you beat the stomach boss, you then you need to find your opponent and go fight them to win the game. The best part of the game is leveling up your character. You get stronger the more guys you fight, and you can buy swords, shields and magic wands from the shop.
Jonas' "Hot Chocolate" game is a crazy and dangerous adventure as two players race to be the first to get the hot chocolate at the top of the mountain. It is fun racing around the board collecting the bridge and landing on each money space to afford the hot chocolate in the end.

Luca's untitled game, which involves trying to race to safety from lighting storms and downpours of rain. The last spot before the finish sends you all the way back to start, so you better roll exactsies.

Here is my game, 'Treasure Divers'. Cat vs pirate vs ice cream man in an underwater battle for treasure.

The board, complete with evil octopus, swarms of deadly piranhas and a blood seeking shark.

UPDATE (2018) Amazingly, this post is almost 10 years old! Thank you for all the continued support, especially teachers and parents: but most importantly the kids! Keep printing them off and enjoying them.

I have been a maze lover since I was old enough to hold a pen (which was age 3). I remember the first He-man Masters of the Universe coloring book I had, which featured some really neat mazes and puzzles. Since then I have created hundreds of mazes during grade school, high school and college. I have incorporated mazes into graphic novels, fine art, treasure hunts and other fine art projects. Games and puzzles are a brilliant way to challenge the mind, for youth and adults alike. I challenge you to download my mazes and give them a try. I enjoy find clever designs or patterns in my maze making and while my mazes are short to solve they can be quite clever and difficult at times. But why take my word for it? Print them out and try for yourselves.

I've also found a bunch of other awesome sites with free printable mazes, so check them out if you want more mazes!

The Flamesmyth and Puffoid (new card art)

Collectible Card Game

In my last post, I was talking about my brand new
Collectible Card Game idea. I posted two pictures of my prototype cards. Right now I am finding all of my friends and family and forcing them to try out my game. I am keeping extensive notes of the pros and cons of the game to make future adjustments.

I will be posting more cards, and game updates. I will be giving an open call to artists to create monsters, I will be sending out free prototype cards to those who will play test the game and fill out surveys.

Keep an eye on the blog for more monsters, more card games, and more exciting updates.
