Like me and win an Octopus Kitty Angel

It may sound very odd, but it is true. If you LIKE William Hessian Art on Facebook, you will be entered to win this Octopus Kitty Angel print.

If you already LIKE William Hessian Art on Facebook and still want a chance to win this print, you can share/promote William Hessian Art on your Facebook Page and also be entered into the drawing.

When I reach 800 likes (or 900 depending when you read this) the drawing will take place. Each 100 likes a new giveaway will happen (it will not always be the Octopus Kitty Angel).

If you are interested in purchasing a print of your very own, you can contact me by leaving a comment on this post. I will delete the comment after I contact you. Thanks

SLP Art Hunt is Over!

The SLP Art Hunt is over! It is now time to start preparing for the Parktacular festival and getting ready for all the fun. The Art Hunt meet and greet, and draw with the artist event will take place all afternoon on Saturday, June 16th. The awards will be given out at 4pm, so for those of you who found art make sure to plan to be at Parktacular a little before 4pm. I do suggest coming much earlier and hanging out with all the fun stuff happening at Parktacular this year. Also, do not forget to check back often for updated gallery photos of the SLP Art Hunt.

Thanks to everyone that was involved this year!

Found Art while Cleaning the Park

Last week, Mali and Jayden decided to "help mother nature" (their words) by picking up trash at Aquila Park. In the process they stumbled on some original art. They found the crown octopus that was hidden under a sawed off stump that was embedded into the softball fence. The art was hidden for the SLP Parktacular Art Hunt. They get to keep the art, and just like the other nine winners, they will get an additional prize at the Parktacular Festival next weekend. What a great story. Special thanks to their teacher Danielle, who sent in this report!

An incredible video of the Meyer/Bongaarts experience of finding the only work of art that was hidden on an unlisted pond! What a great video capturing the whole thing!

My SLP Parktacular Art Hunt is already half over, but 4 more artworks need to be found! And here are a few extra bonus photos of the found art that took place yesterday!

Twice the Octopus

Did you miss the show this weekend?

I killed my alien painting with an ax. I'll be posting that video later this week. I also painted this double octopus.

If you like it, you can save it, or else I will be destroying the double octopus this weekend, on my live painting show Canvas Kill Live.

I hope you can make the show.

Custom Octo Bunny

Often times when I meet art fans during my miniature art hunts, or if people see my work on the walls of a particular gallery or coffe shop, I will get requests for a hand drawn version or variation of the art they see. The drawing below is a hand drawn 5 X 7 inch version of my octopus bunny art, there is a different version of the octo bunny you can buy on etsy (currently I am running a special online where you can buy one bunny, get a second bunny free!)

The original commissions like the one above typically run from $50-65 depending on specifics. I enjoy doing these from time to time for those that enjoy my work, and prefer original works as opposed to my less expensive hand signed prints. I am working on a number of new bunnies, and also another batch of bunny variations to be featured in the Art O Mat series.

I do want to encourage those reading this blog to browse through older posts to see some of the exciting projects going on. I did also update the popular posts on the right hand side, so check out those links to see some of the best posts from the last few weeks.

I am on TV

WCCO Chanel 4 came to interview me yesterday. We spoke about my Minneapolis Art Hunt. You can watch the video by going to WCCO's website.

The art hunt is in its winding moments. Less than half of the artwork is remaining, and the easy clues have just been uploaded. The park locations will be revealed tonight for the remaining hidden art.

WCCO literally contacted me the night before by e-mail, asking to do a story about the hunt, and less than 24 hours later, there it was on TV on the local news. I am excited to see that my miniature art hunts, of which I performed 7 this summer on a road trip across america, are growing in popularity each place I go. Starting with website and newspaper media, and now growing to local news. I hope the trend continues.

You can learn more, and even GO on the hunt today if you have time, by checking out the information and visual clues available on www.williamhessian.com

You can also browse my last few blog posts and learn a lot more about the artwork, the concept and see videos and pictures.
